Our luxury hotel in South Tyrol was once the Theiner family’s peach orchard. Today, it is home to the most climate-friendly hotel in the Alps, with hospitality provided not only by the family but by an entire team devoted to your wellbeing. 100% organic - from construction and furnishings to food and spa products - the highest sustainability standards, an allergy-friendly environment with organic materials and cleaning products, flexible dining options (as a member of the Italian Coeliac Association, we also offer gluten-free cuisine) and natural materials throughout. The Bergerhof - our origins

The story of our bio hotel is closely linked to the Theiner family and their deep connection to nature. In 1980, Walter and Myriam Theiner took over the Bergerhof, which at the time was still purely an apple-growing farm. Just one year later, they took a pioneering step and converted the farm to biodynamic agriculture. In 1984, it was awarded Demeter certification - a clear commitment to sustainable farming and responsible practices. The next generation continued along this path with equal dedication: in 1990, their daughter Heike opened the organic shop ProNatura, and just one year later, the family, together with their son Armin, founded the organic wholesale company ProNatura for organic food.

We share our home

In 2003, Ingo Theiner took over the Bergerhof. The combination of agriculture, organic expertise and the desire to make sustainability tangible led to the idea of creating a bio hotel in 2004. Construction began in 2008, supported jointly by all members of the family, and as early as 2009, theiner’s garten opened its doors – as one of the first consistently sustainable bio hotels and the first climate hotel. Since 2020, the hotel has also been managed by Ingo Theiner. The property remains a family-run business driven by conviction: rooted in biodynamic agriculture, shaped by commitment across generations and guided by the vision of bringing sustainability, enjoyment and relaxation into harmony.
