A sad goodbye

Geza is going home

Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Geza last week. Anyone who has ever stayed at our hotel will certainly have noticed him. He had been an indispensable pillar of support for us ever since we opened in 2009. Geza was the jack-of-all-trades here and had a memory like an elephant. He knew exactly which regular guests needed an extra blanket, whether someone preferred a different chair – he simply knew everyone’s preferences. And he wasn’t just there for you, our guests; if something wasn’t working in the hotel, Geza would sort it out. With his charming manner, he was able to keep his cool even in the most stressful moments.

It is all the more sad, then, that we must say goodbye to him, as he has decided to return to his home country, Hungary. Of course, we are delighted for him; yet we are heartbroken to have lost him here at the hotel. Don’t worry, we have already found a replacement, even though, of course, no one can ever truly take his place.
