Racing bikes

Fontana Bianca Lake

From Gargazzone, follow the cycling path up to Lana. After crossing the village, at the junction, take the road to the Val d'Ultimo. When you get to the first town, San Pancrazio, you have already conquered a formidable altitude gain. When you get to the artificial lakes, the journey becomes flatter. Shortly before the end of the valley, you encounter the Schwemmalm ski area, where Dominik Paris, twice-winner of the downhill race in Kitzbühel, started his career. When you reach Santa Gertrude, the last village in the valley, turn right and follow the road up to the Fontana Bianca Lake. On the way back, follow the same itinerary of the first leg or a longer one through Lauregno and the Passo della Palade towards Lana, returning to Gargazzone along the cycling path.

The classic: Mendola - Palade

From theiner's, pedal up to Caldaro to “warm up your engine”. From here, head towards the Passo della Mendola (1,363 m), passing its beautiful hairpin bends. Cross the road and continue until you reach Passo Palade (1,518 m), passing through the enchanting plateau of Val di Non. Finally, enjoy the thrilling descent towards Lana. From here, you reach the Postal station and take the cycling path towards Bolzano and return to the Bio Vitalhotel. This itinerary can also be completed in the opposite direction (a more demanding trail).

San Leonardo in Passiria

Follow the cycling path up to Merano, crossing the historical Sissi’s Path and pass the first metres of altitude gain before entering the distinctive Val Passiria. Pedalling along the river, you come across several villages. After 30 km, you reach your destination: San Leonardo. This is where the valley divides: one path leads to the Rombo pass, while another takes you to the Monte Giovo pass, beloved by racing bike lovers. After a stop in the hometown of Andreas Hofer, a fighter for the freedom of Tyrol, return to Gargazzone.

Vineyard tour in Nalles

From Gargazzone, pedal through the apple orchards up to Nalles (towards Bolzano). Here, a small climb begins leading to Andriano, a village with a high vocation for wine. On the return path, follow the same route. Alternatively, you can follow the Wine Route or the cycling path along the Adige river.

From Gargazzone, follow the cycling path up to Lana (towards Merano), before passing the first three hundred metres of altitude gain on an upward trail. At this point, the so-called "Vorbichl" becomes your playground. Easy, S1-difficulty trails offer extraordinary sensations. After a break in Tesimo, point toward the destination of this tour: Sant'Ippolito. In addition to the church, a perfect backdrop to numerous weddings, it is the incredible panorama that catches your eye. You can admire 20 locations and around 40 castles or ruins on the horizon. Return to Lana along varied trails. Finally, take the cycling path (toward Bolzano) and return to Gargazzone. Variation: through Via Moso towards Tesimo.

Völlaner Badl

Starting from Gargazzone, follow the "Moosweg" (No. 18) path to Tesimo. Pass the Sant'Ippolito hill and descend to the valley after the small lake of Narano. In the centre of Foiana, take the road to the Völlaner Badl. On the way back, cycle along the unpaved road or trail (S1-S2) to Lana and back to Gargazzone along the cycling path, passing through Postal.

From theiner's garten, ride along a short stretch of the main road up to Postal. After passing the church, you will face the first 300 metres of altitude gain. The tour continues with ease: cycle along the slope on a hilly route, enjoying a magnificent view of Val d'Adige and the entrance of Val Venosta. Passing under Castel Trauttmansdorff Gardens, take the main road again and then the cycling path back to theiner's garten. Tip: it's worth stopping at the Fragsburg waterfall, adding another 100 metres in altitude gain.

Starting from our bike hotel, follow the cycling path towards Merano up to the SInigo exit. Cycle to Castel Rametz, passing in front of the famous Castel Trauttmansdorff Gardens. Turn onto Via Labers and continue toward Castel Fragsburg. Following the directions, you reach the Greiter farm, at approximately 950 metres of altitude. On the way back, you can follow the same path or start an S1-difficulty trail leading to Sinigo.
